The game took place at Taylor-Sanders Field on the campus of Southwestern University.
Centenary entered the championship game as the No. 6 seed and faced elimination against Texas Lutheran, who are ranked fourth in the NFCA/Gorout Division III Top 25 Softball Coaches’ Poll. With this victory, Texas Lutheran improved their impressive season record to 39-2 and will move on to face the No. 2 seed University of St. Thomas Celts in the championship round of the tournament.
With the loss, the Centenary Ladies finished their season with a record of 21-22. This marks the second-most wins for the team during the Division III era (2012-present), trailing only their record of 23 wins achieved in 2016.
In the championship game, the Centenary softball team demonstrated determination despite the unfavorable outcome. The Ladies collected five hits and drew one walk against a formidable Texas Lutheran pitching staff.
